The classification of the medical clothing

2021-10-26
1. By use(medical clothing)
It can be divided into daily work clothes, surgical clothes, isolation clothes and protective clothes according to the purpose and occasion of use.
Daily work clothes refer to the white coats worn by medical staff in their daily work, also known as white coats.
Surgical clothes refer to specially designed clothes worn in the operating room.
Isolation clothing refers to the clothing worn by medical staff on occasions such as contacting patients and family members visiting patients.
Protective clothing refers to the clothing worn by personnel in special areas such as medical first aid, infectious disease area and electromagnetic radiation area.

2. According to service life(medical clothing)
According to the service life, medical protective clothing can be divided into disposable protective clothing and reusable protective clothing.
The domestic standard for medical disposable surgical clothes is the industry standard YY / T 0506-2016 surgical sheets, surgical clothes and clean clothes for patients, medical staff and instruments issued by the State Food and Drug Administration and implemented from January 1, 2017. The standard for medical disposable protective clothing is the technical requirements for medical disposable protective clothing designated by China National Standardization Administration Committee and implemented from March 1, 2010: gb19082-2009.
Disposable protective clothing is discarded after use without disinfection and washing. It is easy to use and can avoid cross infection. However, disposable materials degrade slowly and are easy to cause environmental pollution. This type is usually used for surgical clothing and isolation clothing with high protective requirements. The reusable type needs washing, high-temperature disinfection and other measures after use. Generally, the comfort of materials is better, but the protective performance is usually poor. The washing and disinfection process will also increase a lot of labor and water resources costs. This type is usually used for daily work clothes (white coat) with small protective requirements.

3. Classification according to materials(medical clothing)
According to the processing technology of materials, medical protective clothing is divided into woven and nonwoven protective clothing.
Woven materials are mainly used to process reusable medical protective clothing, including traditional woven fabrics, high-density fabrics, coated fabrics and laminated fabrics. Traditional woven fabrics are mainly made of cotton fiber or polyester and cotton blended yarn. They have good comfort and are mainly used in daily work clothes (white coats). High density fabric is made of high count cotton yarn or other ultra-fine synthetic fiber filaments. The yarn gap is very small. It has moisture permeability due to the capillary action of the fiber. After being treated with fluorocarbon, silicone and other waterproof agents, it has certain anti liquid permeability. It is mainly used for surgical clothing materials that need better waterproof effect. Coating and laminated fabrics are used to enhance the impermeability of materials and are used for protective clothing materials in harsh environments. After coating processing, the surface of the coated fabric is sealed by the coating agent and has anti permeability. The hydrophilic groups in the coating or the microporous structure is formed by special methods to ensure the moisture permeability of the fabric. Laminated fabric is a composite of fabric and a layer of special film (such as microporous film, polyurethane moisture permeable film, etc.) through lamination process, such as PTFE super waterproof and moisture permeable composite fabric. Because the micropore pore diameter of the main membrane of the fabric is much smaller than the diameter of water droplets, it can prevent the penetration of blood and body fluids. The micropore has high porosity, the pore diameter is larger than the diameter of water vapor molecules, and water vapor molecules can pass freely, so the moisture permeability is good.
Nonwoven protective clothing materials are basically disposable. Spunbonded nonwovens, spunlaced nonwovens, SMS (spunbonded melt blown spunbonded) composite nonwovens, flash nonwovens and spunbonded fabric lamination products are widely used. Generally, nonwoven protective clothing has better protection than machine-made materials.
